A tough year for us in 2021 but we have managed to remain in division 2 for 2022 and also 2023 and 2024. Now retained our place for the 2025 season. Keep up the good work to all the members who play in this league.
C&D LEAGUE DIVISION 3
We ended the 2019 season in 2nd place which gave us promotion to Division 2 - well earned team! Good luck in all the matches for the coming season.
C&D LEAGUE DIVISION 3
We ended the 2018 season in 4th place overall, which is not bad for our first season in this new division. Well done Barton players.

Todd Bridgman 2021
We all look back so fondly on our year in the UK in 2017, especially the fun times we had at the Barton Bowls Club. It really was the highlight. I remember the day we were walking down to the Rec and Sierra saw the notice for the ‘free BBQ at the open day – she was very enthusiastic about that. I chuckle about it now, because she’s vegetarian! Still, the love of bowls has grown stronger and we hope one day to visit you all again. All the best for the new season!
Todd
Thank you Todd - we follow Sierra's progress in the New Zealand bowls world with great interest and are so proud of her Championship status! BBC
McGowan family 2019
Barton bowls club invited Comberton school children for a try at bowls. My son was quite interested to attend so as a family we all went to see the club. From that first day everyone involved has looked after us and made us all feel welcome. Both boys in particular have very much enjoyed themselves at the social events last year. I even won the mixed pairs club final and now am a proud owner of a trophy! Looking forward to the summer and honing our skills on the green.

Jennings family
We felt very welcome by the club and were immediately included in all social events as well as playing matches. It suited us all for different reasons. My son is very competitive and loves playing matches, my daughter needs a low impact, healthy activity and I really like the opportunity to practice regularly and improve.

Bridgman family
As a new resident of Barton I joined BBC this year with my daughter Sierra (12), but really our whole family (wife Maria and children Savannah (11), Leo and Zac (7)) became part of club life. We have greatly appreciated the warm welcome given by all club members, their investment in smaller bowls for the children, the coaching opportunities that were provided, the chance to play competitively in the local leagues and the social occasions where we were all given an opportunity to be involved. Taking a short walk to the green to enjoy a roll-up with the children after work has been a real highlight of our summer. So my advice is don’t be put off by the ridiculous ageist stereotype that bowls is only a sport for the elderly. It’s an enjoyable, skilful game that the whole family can enjoy. There’s not many sports where you can have three generations playing together in the same team. So if you’re looking for a healthy, local, family activity then join this special club!

Barton Bowls Club is a very friendly club welcoming us warmly and soon getting us playing in matches. The sport is simple but skillful, sometimes frustrating, but always a fun time had with the teams. We would recommend this sport highly to anyone who wants to try something a little more gentle, but still exercise their coordination skills.
